OwlCrate | July 2018 Unboxing

Another month, another OwlCrate delivery! I’m absolutely loving my OwlCrate subscription! If you haven’t checked it already, you should! Each box I’ve received so far has been filled with amazing goodies.

Theme: “Strange & Unusual”

Featured Book

This month’s book was a signed copy of My Plain Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. I already received this book in my LitJoy crate last month, but I was delighted to see this purple version in my box! It’s gorgeous, and the deckled edges are a nice tough.

Book Description (from Goodreads): You may think you know the story. After a miserable childhood, penniless orphan Jane Eyre embarks on a new life as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There, she meets one dark, brooding Mr. Rochester. Despite their significant age gap (!) and his uneven temper (!!), they fall in love—and, Reader, she marries him. (!!!)

Or does she?

Prepare for an adventure of Gothic proportions, in which all is not as it seems, a certain gentleman is hiding more than skeletons in his closets, and one orphan Jane Eyre, aspiring author Charlotte Brontë, and supernatural investigator Alexander Blackwood are about to be drawn together on the most epic ghost hunt this side of Wuthering Heights.

Pennant Flag

This month’s crate included a Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children flag designed by Risa Rodil. While it’s super cute, it’s not something I’d display, so I’ll probably gift it at some point.

Just look at this gorgeous Raven Boy wallet! Designed by Reverie and Ink, it’s simply stunning. I haven’t decided what I’m going to use it for yet, but I love it!

Whale Print

This art print was designed by Aun-Juli Riddle. I think I’m going to frame it and hang it in the kids’ playroom. I love the colors and the whimsical style.

Skull Push Pins

Created by OwlCrate, these push pins are adorable! I don’t use push pins, so I’m not sure if this is an item I’ll hold onto or not, but they were a cute addition.

Ouija Board Mints

My daughter already ran off with these mints, and she claims they’re quite yummy. Created by Boston American Corp.

Funko Pop! Keychain

I know nothing about Stranger Things, so this keychain is lost on me. This is another item I’ll probably give away.

OwlCrate Pin and Sticker

What OwlCrate would be complete without the requisite pin? A must-have in every box! I also enjoyed the Luna Lovegood sticker, designed by TJ Lubrano. It’s so cute!

Bookish Extras

The OwlCrate box also came with literature explaining the “Strange & Unusual” box, as well as a sneak peak into next month’s “Ruthless Royals” box.

While this wasn’t my favorite OwlCrate box to date, I’m super pleased with the book, wallet, and print!

Let’s Talk!

Did you receive this month’s OwlCrate box? What did you think?

      1. It’s a netflix series, I believe. It follows a group of kids through some sci-fi mystery stuff. You should have a look at it. It’s interesting even though it can be frustrating at times.
