OwlCrate | June 2018 Unboxing

I’m absolutely loving my OwlCrate subscription! If you haven’t checked it already, you should! Each box I’ve received so far has been filled with amazing goodies.

Theme: “Summer Lovin'”

Featured Book

This month’s book was a signed copy of From Twinkle with Love by Sandhya Menon. I don’t read a ton of young adult contemporary, but this book looks sweet. I also dig the yellow naked hardcover! So bright–it screams summer!

Book Description (from Goodreads): Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.

When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.

Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?

Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you.

Ink & Wonder Woodmark

This month’s crate included an Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe inspired wooden bookmark by Ink & Wonder. This is my first woodmark, and I simply adore it!

Bookish Mason Jar Mug

While I’m currently using this mason jar mug to hold bookmarks, I would have no problem using this mug for a nice summery beverage! Designed by Michelle Gray and OwlCrate, this mug is a definite win!

Microfiber Towel

As a mom with two kids, I can never have enough beach towels in the summertime! My daughter loves this one. Designed by Stella Bookish Art, it’s a lovely addition to our beach collection.

Riddle’s Tea Shoppe Tea

Inspired by Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson and created by Riddle’s Tea Shoppe, this tea sounds like a delightful summer drink! I’m not a huge tea drinker myself, but I know either my husband or daughter will enjoy this one!

Keychain, Pin, & Pen

Who doesn’t love extra bits and bobs? The keychain is an exclusive OwlCrate keychain inspired by this month’s book. I’m not sure if I’ll use it, but it’s certainly cute. The OwlCrate pin is always a welcome addition. The cactus pen by BC Mini is adorable! My daughter commandeered it from me–she likes it too!

Bookish Extras

The OwlCrate box also came with literature explaining the “Summer Lovin'” box, as well as a sneak peak into next month’s “Strange & Unusual” box. I think I’m getting next month’s book in another box already, so I’ll have to figure out which copy I’m going to keep!

I’ve been getting OwlCrate for the last four months now, and I think this is my favorite box to date! I liked that almost everything in the box is useful. I also liked that this box didn’t include a print. While the prints are always gorgeous, I don’t do anything with them.

Let’s Talk!

Did you receive this month’s OwlCrate box? What did you think?

  1. Ahhh, this box looks so amazing!!! I can’t wait to get mine!!! 🙂 I love the loose leaf tea idea because I’m a tea nut – I’m going to make it an iced tea and drink it out of my mason jar. 🙂

Ps: what do you think next months book is??

  3. This box looks amazing! Love the mug and that woodmark is to die for. I’m so torn on whether I should get the July box or not. I think I know the book and it sounds like a great read.
