A Week in Reading | June 3-9

Books Read Last Week

This past week I only finished one book, but it was a good one!

the perfect mother

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Currently Reading

I’m currently listening to Seeing Red by Sandra Brown on audiobook. I should be finished with it next week. It’s okay. I can’t say I find the storyline super engaging, and the characters are just kind of “meh.” I’m also reading Saving Beck by Courtney Cole, which is awesome so far!

I plan on reading To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo next. It’s a mermaid kind of a month (I just read The Surface Breaks last week..)

  1. This week I finished Blackfish City and Daughter of the Siren Queen!! I’m currently reading The Death of Mrs. Westaway, and though I thought that might be the only book I pick up this week, it’s so chilling and suspenseful, I might finish it a lot faster than I thought, which means I might have time for another Ruth Ware novel!

      1. I thought it was decent, but nothing spectacular, though sci-fi isn’t really a genre I read much of, so this was a “branching out” book for me. It gets an A+ for diversity and for having the story lines come together in a really cool way, but the pacing was a bit slow in the beginning and a bit rushed towards the end, and I found certain parts of the world-building confusing. I gave it a 3/5, so I’d say it’s worth a try, but definitely not a new favorite or anything

  2. I am so glad to hear you liked The Perfect Mother. I really want to read that book. I really like the cover of Saving Beck. I think I heard about this somewhere else. I will be look forward to what you have to say about that one. Also hope you enjoy To Kill a Kingdom when you get to it. I have been hearing a lot of good things about that book as well.
