Throwback Thursday – Memorable Book That Starts With the Letter ‘Q’

queenofshadows
For this throwback Thursday, I’m picking a memorable book that starts with the letter ‘Q’.

This week I’m picking Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. This is the fourth book in the Throne of Glass series, so really, I recommend reading the entire series. It’s pretty awesome, and Sarah J. Maas is a genius with the written word.

Description (From Goodreads):
The queen has returned.

Everyone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past…

She has embraced her identity as Aelin Galathynius, Queen of Terrasen. But before she can reclaim her throne, she must fight.

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die for her. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

The fourth volume in the New York Times bestselling series continues Celaena’s epic journey and builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

Let’s Talk!

Have you read the Throne of Glass series? What do you think of Celaena (I know some people love her, and some people hate her)?

  1. About half way through this book is when I gave up on this series. :/ I did not like TOG, but after giving into the hype and reading ACOTAR, which I LOVE, I decided to give Crown of Midnight a chance. And I enjoyed it quite a bit. And Heir of Fire even more. I was so disappointed when I got bored with QOS. I might go back someday. I hear EOS is great and I love Chaol, so Tower of Dawn appeals to me. We’ll see 🙂

  2. Oh this one is a tough one. I have a love / hate relationship with her. Her arrogance and secretiveness irks me but she is such an interesting and torn character.. I think my favourite TOG character is Manon.. 🧙‍♀️
Apart from Tower of Dawn, I have read all books in the series with the last one being my favourite so far. 😊

  3. I love her and the whole series. I do like a lot of the supporting characters too, which is surprising. I really am starting to like Manon! I can’t wait for the last book! 🙂
