My NetGalley Queue (#2)

Last month I posted about the current state of my NetGalley queue, so I’d like to do the same this month. I’m trying to be pickier about the books I request, sticking to requesting only the books I’m really, really excited about.

I am sad to say that I had my first NetGalley book archive before I submitted a review. My first and hopefully last! In all fairness, I watch archive dates closely, and this book had no archive date listed. Maybe understandable, but still annoying.

In the autumn of 1960, Angie Glass is living an idyllic life in her Wisconsin hometown. At twenty-one, she’s married to charming, handsome Paul, and has just given birth to a baby boy. But one phone call changes her life forever.

When Paul’s niece, Ruby, reports that her father, Henry, has committed suicide, and that her mother, Silja, is missing, Angie and Paul drop everything and fly to the small upstate town of Stonekill, New York to be by Ruby’s side.

Angie thinks they’re coming to the rescue of Paul’s grief-stricken young niece, but Ruby is a composed and enigmatic seventeen-year-old who resists Angie’s attempts to nurture her. 1. I currently have 4. I took the bad way out and send some publishers apologizes that I couldn’t read their books due to lack of time 😞 I’m reading Obscura by Maddie Dawson right now and really liking it!

  2. . . . 28. But that’s between Edelweiss and Netgalley and First to Read and ARCs, and I’m 110% certain I’ll get to all of them before they pub. I keep a spreadsheet to make sure I don’t miss deadlines, schedule my posts, etc. Usually for me it’s in the low twenties range but I consider this manageable! I haven’t read any of those, but I hope you enjoy!

  3. Mmm, difficult to get my list of waiting tbr books shorter than it is at the moment. Not sure how many are on there. My ratio wavers between 74/76% but I would like it to get up to the recommended 80%. Unfortunately, I suffered from that initial flush of ‘child in a sweet shop’ when I first joined and some of those books were maybe not as well chosen for me and so remain on my shelf to date. I’m more careful now about what I request. I will eventually get my list down a little but it’s difficult to get it much lower because some of the books on there are not due for release until May/June and I don’t want to review them until nearer to the release date – conundrum.
    Hope you enjoy your reads.
    Lynn 😀
