2017 Wrap Up – My Year In Books

Is it really 2018 already? Where did the time go? As far as reading goes, I had a fantastic year! I had a Goodreads goal of 50 books, and I crushed it by reading 105 books this year! That’s 39,420 pages of awesomeness! Check out my year in reading below, or follow this link to see my Goodreads summary.

Length

I read books of all sizes this year! My average page count was 375 pages. The longest book I read was Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon at 1,088 pages, and the shortest book I read was The Young Queens by Kendare Blake at 93 pages. As you can see in my page count breakdown below, I don’t shy away from long books.

Average Rating

My average rating for 2017 was 3.6, which makes sense. I tend to be picky about the books I read and rarely pick up a book if it doesn’t have high marks on Goodreads. I almost got through the year without a 1-star rating, but unfortunately I had a 1-star book in the month of December. The highest rated book I read was Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo.

Other Bookish Stats

It’s always a goal of mine to read at least 25% non-fiction books, which I hit right on the nose this year.

Additionally, 14% of the books I read this year were audiobooks, and 12% of the books I read were ARCs.
