Description

(From Goodreads) These Royals will ruin you.

Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.

Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.

Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.

She might be right.

Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.

Review

Fallen Heir is told from the perspective of Easton Royal, a Royal brother who has it all. He has good looks, money, and brains. When a new girl arrives at school, Easton wants her too, but she doesn’t fall into his trap easily. This book features his pursuit, their friendship, and a dramatic cliffhanger.

What to say about this book? I ranked it three stars because he was entertaining, but I honestly think I’m being too generous. Easton Royal is all kinds of atrocious. I think the author attempted to paint him as a sympathetic character, but I had little sympathy for him. In the book he acts like a spoiled, entitled rich kid who thinks he can have whatever he wants. He also doesn’t understand the concept of “no,” and pushes Hartley, his love interest, to the point where I wanted to shake him and yell, “NO MEANS NO, MAN!”

Despite not liking Easton’s character in this book (which is a shame, because I liked him in the previous books), I am very curious about where the author takes the next book. She left it off on one heck of a cliffhanger!
