August Book Wrap Up

# Of books finished: 8
August was a slow reading month for me! I had a couple of big projects at work that ate up a lot of my time. I’m hoping September will be a more fruitful month for books.

Favorite book: American Sniper by Chris Kyle
img_2325-1I don’t typically read military books, so I was surprised by how much I liked this book. I’m more of a peace and bunnies person and usually steer clear of books focusing on guns and war. Kyle is a great storyteller, and I found myself captivated (and at times horrified) by his tale. The narrator in the audiobook really brought this story to life, so if you like audiobooks, this one is worth checking out.

Least favorite book: Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders
img_2307-2As I already stated in my review, this book was tough to follow in audiobook format. Yes, the audiobook had an amazing cast of well-known people, but listening to it was an exercise in futility as I tried to keep pace with the storyline. I recommend reading this book and forgoing the audiobook if you’ve been wanting to check it out.
